Classroom Assessment Techniques for Busy Faculty
Workshop Objectives: Upon completion of the workshop, participants will be able to do the following:
- Identify four classroom assessment techniques;
- Model and apply appropriate classroom assessment strategies;
- Provide feedback and gauge student’s’ understanding and recall of course content.

Workshop Objectives: Upon completion of the workshop, participants will understand:
- Will be familiar with the elements of a Student Learning Outcomes Assessment Plan and Report, analytic rubrics, and curriculum maps
Developing SMART Student Learning Outcomes
Workshop Objectives: Upon conclusion of the workshop, participants will:
- Be able to write student learning outcomes that are specific, measurable, attainable, results-focused and time-focused

- Identify techniques for assessing attitudes and values

Prerequisite Workshop: Writing SMART Student Learning Outcomes
Workshop Objectives: Upon conclusion of the workshop, participants will understand:
- The differences between summative and formative assessments, direct and indirect measures, and traditional and authentic assessments
- How the expected level of learning affects the selection of appropriate assessment measures for student learning outcomes
Compliance Assist Workshop – Learn UNC Charlotte’s new process for Strategic Planning and Annual Reporting Activities
Workshop Objectives: Upon completion of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Simplify the assessment and accreditation activities of their respective departments with our new centralized assessment planning, management and reporting system, Compliance Assist.
- Enter their own data or sample data to complete a Strategic Plan and Annual Report in the new system.
- Use the new system to run reports which reflect the strategic plan summaries, metrics, measures, and results for their respective departments.
Compliance Assist Workshops-Reporting Functions
Workshop Objectives: Upon completion of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Use the new system to run reports which reflect the strategic plan summaries, metrics, measures, and results for their respective departments.
- Create ad hoc reports to filter and sort data for specific reporting needs of a department

Workshop Objectives: Upon conclusion of the workshop, participants will understand:
- The elements of a Student Learning Outcomes Assessment Plan and Report
- Analytic rubrics and curriculum maps
- How analytic rubrics and curriculum maps are used in conjunction with assessment data to improve student learning.
