Dr. Samantha-Rae Dickenson
Graduate Research Assistant (Apr 2018 – Aug 2020)
Congratulations to our former Graduate Assistant, Samantha-Rae Dickenson, EdD on her new postion as the New Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) at Goodwill Industries International (GII). She will lead the development and promotion of DEI plans and implement workplace initiatives and best practices. Dr. Dickenson will also support the 156 local Goodwill nonprofit organizations in the U.S. and Canada by developing and curating DEI resources and strategies to assist Goodwill organizations’ mission of supporting people through their career journeys. We wish her continued success as she progresses in her career.

Sankalp Gabbita
Graduate Research Assistant (Sep 2016 – May 2017)
A warm hello to Sankalp Gabbita, a former Graduate Assistant in town for a visit. Sankalp shared with us how his graduate research assistantship training has helped him succeed in his current analyst position at Essendant – and how he’s adjusting to the cold winters of the Chicago area! One of Sankalp’s many projects with the OAA was the Tableau visualization of the Sophomore Survey.
Anitra Harris, M.Ed
Graduate Research Assistant (September 2020 to July 2022)
Congratulations to Anitra Harris, M.Ed on her position as Coordinator of Assessment and Data Management at University of South Carolina. Her responsibilities are to track key performance indicators that support accreditation and align with University’s strategic plan. She will create and maintain automated data analytic reports for each unit in the department, leveraging real-time data to measure and optimize student engagement. Anitra also serves as a resource for developing learning outcomes and engagement descriptors for programs, events, and services. We wish Anitra continued success in her position.
Dr. Dymilah Hewitt
Graduate Research Assistant (Aug 2014 – July 2016)
Congratulations to one of our past Graduate Assistants, Dymilah Hewitt, PhD on receiving her doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction in 2017. She successfully defended her dissertation on The Experiences and Academic Successes of African American Post-9/11 Veterans at Martin R. Delany State University. We wish Dr. Hewitt much success in her future endeavors. She is currently an Editor and Academic Coach at Marvelous Manuscript as well as an English instructor with the Clark County School District in Las Vegas, NV.
Duke Maisiba
Graduate Research Assistant (Sep 2016 – May 2017 )
Congratulations to Duke Maisiba, our past Graduate Assistant, on his new position as Systems Operation Manager at WakeMed Health and Hospital in Raleigh, NC. His responsibilities will include Project Management-establishing timelines, resources needed, and projected expenses. Planning, Evaluating and Coordinating projects and teams to meet organizational objectives and strategic plans for patient safety. Clinical Quality Improvement Leadership-leading and participating in quality improvement efforts through data collection and evaluation for internal activities. Duke is a graduate from the Master of Health Administration at UNC Charlotte. We wish Duke all the best and success in Raleigh.
Dr. Charles “Chuck” McShane
Graduate Research Assistant (Aug 2013 – Jan 2015)
Congratulations to one of our past Graduate Assistants, Charles “Chuck” McShane, Ph.D on his new position as the Senior Vice President, Business Analytics and Data for the Charlotte Chamber. His responsibilities will be to lead the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance’s economic research division, which tracks and analyzes data on the Charlotte Region’s economic competitiveness. The team also consults with local and international executives, site selectors and elected officials on demographic and economic trends locally, regionally and nationally. We wish him continued success as he begins his new position.
Andy Nguyen
Graduate Research Assistant (Jan 2017- Dec 2017)
Congratulations to our past Graduate Assistant, Andy Nguyen, on his new position as an analyst for CRIF Lending Solutions in Atlanta, GA. Andy received his Master’s in Mathematical Finance from UNC Charlotte in December of 2017. As a GA in the Office of Assessment and Accreditation from January 2017- December 2017, Andy provided critical analytical support on student success research projects. Mingwei “Max” Qianq

Congratulations to Mingwei “Max” Qianq, our past Graduate Assistant, on his new position as Quantitative Risk Modeler at Bank OZK in Dallas, TX. His responsibilities will be developing risk models to quantify risks, support strategic decisions and drive compliance with regulations. Max is a graduate from the Masters of Science in Mathematical Finance Program at UNC Charlotte. We wish him all the best and success in Dallas.
Steven Slater
Graduate Research Assistant (Jan 2017 – Jun 2018)
Congratulations to Steven Slater, our past Assessment Project Temp and Graduate Assistant, on his new position at as a Acquisition Analyst, Publications Analyst, Project and Program Manager for Antech Systems in Lexington Park, MD. Steven is a graduate from the MBA program with a concentration in International Business from the Belk College of Business at UNC Charlotte. He is a certified lean Six Sigma practitioner, and obtain his black belt in June. He served in both the Navy and Marine Corps as a Builder, Instructor, and Korean Linguist/Intelligence Analyst. We wish him the best of luck and success in Massachusetts.
