Program Assessment of Student Learning Outcomes

Every program in the College of Computing and Informatics (CCI) has learning outcomes that represent that academic degree program’s fundamental units of learning. Every program has a list of Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) that represent the fundamental units of learning for that program. A curriculum map is created for every program where we identify where the outcomes are introduced, reinforced, and mastered. Data regarding the outcome may be collected at any point in that map, although one would expect progressive improvement as the students move from “introduction” to “mastery.” Each SLO is placed on a three-year cycle to ensure the outcome is studied, improved, and monitored.
